12-GAUGE pRODUCEs some of the most critically acclaimed independent comic books in the marketplace today.

Establishing itself from day one as a company dedicated to creating quality material, 12-Gauge has continued to strengthen its reputation with each new comic series. With a focus on crime and action stories, 12-Gauge has carved out a special place in the industry, now in its 13th year of creating stories with a tradition of excellence that can’t be denied.

12-GAUGE COMICS both produces and publishes comic books and graphic novels by some of the most respected creators in the industry.

Seeing a hole in the comic book marketplace for crime and action/adventure stories, company President KEVEN GARDNER set his eyes on developing and publishing comics that would fill that niche, one he felt had been ignored for too long by the major publishers. 12-Gauge’s flagship title, THE RIDE, was an original concept created by Gardner; featuring a 1968 Camaro and the many characters whose lives it alters, The Ride is an action-packed anthology that has become an avenue for some of the most respected talent in the comic book industry to flex their creative muscles. With an initial story by DOUG WAGNER, BRIAN STELFREEZE, and CULLY HAMNER, The Ride #1 (published by Image Comics) debuted as the top selling new black and white comic of 2004.

Following the success of The Ride, 12-Gauge resurrected JASON PEARSON’s BODY BAGS, a controversial title from the late-nineties chronicling the missions of a father/daughter bounty hunting team in the near future. The reprints and new stories were quick sellouts, helping solidify 12-Gauge as a strong content creator.

12-Gauge then helped develop THE OCCULT CRIMES TASKFORCE, an original comic book concept co-created by (and drawn to the likeness of) actress Rosario Dawson. The comic book has been featured on “The Today Show,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” and “Access Hollywood,” among others. In a competitive situation, The O.C.T. was optioned by Dimension Films, just days after the release of its first issue.

In 2009, 12-Gauge published its first licensed property, THE BOONDOCK SAINTS, with original stories by series creator/director Troy Duffy, the comics were incredibly successful and an important piece of the 12-Gauge arsenal.

12-Gauge then looked to the untapped market of country music, teaming with superstar recording artist Trace Adkins on LUKE MC BAIN. Adkins 'played' the hard-as-nails character in an adventure story of revenge and redemption, developed by writer DAVID TISCHMAN and Keven Gardner. Trace went on a wide publicity tour for the comics; highlights being a guest appearance on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and a feature story in USA Today.

Other titles of note include 25 TO LIFE, an F.B.I. series that pushes the boundaries of the traditional law enforcement procedural; MAGUS, the high-concept series that redefined the world of magic as we know it; R.P.M. from New York Times #1 Bestselling author (and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion) MICK FOLEY; the action-franchise I.C.E., which follows an elite team of US Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agents; ANTI, an original comic series developed with producer Gale Anne Hurd; SHERWOOD, TEXAS, a modern day twist on the Robin Hood legend, and graphic novel adaptations of the NICK TRAVERS book series, from ACE ATKINS, the New York Times Bestselling author of over twenty novels (including Robert B. Parker's Spenser series).

Most recently, 12-Gauge has re-partnered with publisher Image Comics to release the acclaimed southern-crime drama LOOSE ENDS (written by the Eisner Award-winning co-creator of Southern Bastards, JASON LATOUR), the wildly popular serial killer series, PLASTIC (with multiple sellouts and 2nd printings), and the chaotic heist series, THE HARD PLACE.

12-Gauge is currently developing the modern warfare comic series SKULL ONE-SIX with New York Times #1 Bestselling author KEVIN MAURER, among other titles, for release in 2018 and beyond.
